FOLLY [Gabriel's Ghost #3]
Linnea Sinclair
PREORDER NOW! Coming February 24, 2009 |
It's an impossible mission on a derelict ship called HOPE'S
FOLLY. A man who feels he can't love. A woman who believes she's unlovable.
And an enemy who will stop at nothing to crush them both.
Admiral Philip Guthrie is in an unprecedented position: on the wrong end of
the law, leading a rag-tag band of rebels against the oppressive Imperial
forces. Or would be, if he can reach his command ship#the intriguingly named
Hope#s Folly#alive. Not much can rattle Philip#s legendary cool#but the
woman who helps him foil an assassination attempt on Kirro Station will.
She#s the daughter of his best friend and first commander#a man who died
while under Philip#s command, and whose death is on Philip#s conscience.
Rya Bennton has been in love with Philip Guthrie since she was a girl. But
can her childhood fantasies survive an encounter with the hardened man, and
newly-minted rebel leader, who it seems has just become her new commanding
officer? And will she still be willing follow him through the jaw of hell
once she learns the truth about her father#s death? |

Sequel to
Gabriel's Ghost
Before her court-martial, Captain Chasidah “Chaz” Bergren was the pride
of the Sixth Fleet. Now she’s a fugitive from the “justice” of a
corrupt Empire. Along with her lover, the former monk, mercenary, and
telepath Gabriel Ross Sullivan, Chaz hoped to leave the past
light-years behind—until the news of her brother Thad’s arrest and
upcoming execution for treason. It’s a ploy by Sully’s cousin Hayden
Burke to force them out of hiding and it works.
With a killer targeting human females and a renegade gen lab breeding
jukor war machines, Chaz and Sully already had their hands full of
treachery, betrayal—not to mention each other. Throw in Chaz’s Imperial
ex-husband, Admiral Philip Guthrie, and a Kyi-Ragkiril mentor out to
seduce Sully and not just loyalties but lives are at stake. For when
Sully makes a fateful choice changing their relationship forever, Chaz
must also choose—between what duty demands and what her heart tells her
she must do.
(this was at one time preview titled Chasidah's Choice but never published) |

Captain Tasha "Sass" Sebastian is hiding a
deadly past, and doing her best to keep a low profile on Admiral Kel-Paten's
ship. . . despite the fact that the bio-cybe admiral won't leave her alone,
making her job on the first Alliance-Triad integrated huntership that much
more difficult. But when her best friend, Doctor Eden Fynn, gets a new
patient in the form of wanted rebel Jace Serafino, both their lives will
change irreparably. For Jace is privy to information that could expose not
only all of Sass# secrets but tear the fragile Alliance peace treaty apart.
There#s just one catch: Jace is not entirely what he seems either, as Eden
learns when the soul behind the man starts whispering to her in her
dreams...

Be careful what you wish for. You might get it...
Her ship's in shambles, her boyfriend's dumped her and she's frankly out of
funds. Captain Trilby Elliot hopes her luck has changed when a high-tech
fightercraft crash lands near her repair site.
Finders keepers. She can sell the ship as salvage, pocket the profits.
Except for one small problem: the pilot, Rhis, is still alive and intent on
commandeering her ship. And another much larger problem: someone very
powerful and very important wants Trilby Elliot dead.
Independent trader Trilby Elliot is forced into
an uneasy alliance with Rhis Vanur, a Zafharin military officer who has
crash-landed his crippled fighter on the uninhabited planet of Avanar, as
they search for her missing best friend and discover that their mutual
enemies, the 'Sko, are in hot pursuit of them both. Top

SHADES OF DARK
 | You’ll find reports from Sully’s ghost ship and the crew of the KARN are
now available in SHADES OF DARK! SHADES OF DARK continues the story of Sully
and Chaz about 3 months after GABRIEL'S GHOST. This continuation of their
story is fulfilling from all aspects - relationships, politics and space
adventure is mixed with love, suspense and action.
The crew of the KARN learns the Federation is falling apart when they rescue
Chaz's ex-husband and the action escalates from there. We meet some new
players and loose some old friends in this war. Meanwhile, someone from the
crew is betraying them and emotions are high. Gabriel [Sully] and Chaz
continue to share something special and their Kyi-psi link is growing - while
they still have differences of opinion and sometimes separate agendas. The
prince of the Kyi-Ragkiril appears as friend and mentor, but he has an agenda
of his own that might prove more dangerous to Sully and Chaz than the traitor
on their ship.
SHADES OF DARK is just so-o-o-o go-o-o-od! I LOVED IT! If you liked GABRIEL'S
GHOST, this sequel is a MUST! (And I hear the publisher was smart enough to
request more from this world as the rebellion continues -- woo-who! book
futures are lookin' good!)

DOWN HOME ZOMBIE BLUES
 | "MIB move over the Guardian Force is here"
After reading this book you will forget your preconceived idea of ZOMBIES! For
those who enjoyed the movies MEN IN BLACK and MIB II, you will enjoy this
book's humor and storyline.
Bio-engineered creatures called ZOMBIES were originally designed for
protection but have turned murderous and it is up to the Interplanetary
Guardian Force to seek and destroy.
It's Christmas in Bahia Vista, Florida, USA and Homicide Detective Sergeant
Theo Petrakos was not looking forward to the holidays with friends and family
match-making efforts. He had one last call before his vacation begins but he
wasn't sure weird was an accurate case description. A strangely mummified body
went to the morgue and his responsibility is to take some sort of hi-tech
computer equipment to the station. The last thing he expected while making a
short stop by his home was the appearance of a monster and a sassy pint-size
lady warrior coming to his aide.
Since the Tresh Border War ended, Commander Jorie Mikkalah is part of the
Guardian Force. She is dealing with shipboard politics which includes an
ex-lover who has given her questionable evaluation and Captain Pietr who pits
one officer against the other. Finding her way on a nil-tech planet whose
strange language is similar to Vekran is not the easiest duty, but a friend
assigned to Earth has not made contact and she feared he was dead. While
attempting to recover the T-MOD and escape from ZOMBIE attack she transports
Theo with her to her ship.
Although Jorie presents her suspicion that there is more than ZOMBIES on
Earth, Captain Pietr is not convinced. After some tactful arguments, the
Captain agrees to allow Theo to work with Jorie and her team to resolve
Earth's ZOMBIE situation. They soon find the true extent of danger and must
work with what and who is available despite regulations. Amidst distress and
damage, these unlikely partners discover they are more alike than expected.
The fast-paced, unfolding of danger and melding of their efforts builds a
believable adventure with a sly humor. The characters respect for duty and
chain-of-command and frustration over its limitations as well as snippets
showing differences and similarities in their relationships present a
well-rounded troop. The humorous perceptions of Earth by Jorie and her rescue
team added to the actions and reactions of Theo, his friends, family and
neighbors build layers and details that readers will appreciate.
For further reader enjoyment, Ms Sinclair has links a video book blurb and the
song DOWN HOME ZOMBIE BLUES available for fans who visit her web site.

Games of Command
 | "This is a GAME you don't want to miss!"
After years of war, Keltish Triad and the United Coalition have formed an
alliance but will it last? In a world where alliance does not mean friends,
will a new threat be discovered to destroy the peace?
Branden Kel-Paten, the Admiral commanding First Fleet, has demanded that
Captain Tasha Sebastian be stationed on his ship and to get her there he has
agreed that some of her crew will join his crew. This includes Tasha's friend,
Doctor Eden Fynn, Chief Medical Officer. To complete the cast of the crew on
Triad Huntership "Vaxxar" there is Reilly, Eden's fursal and Tank, Sass'
fursal.
Although Doc Eden wishes to stay on planet to discover what is causing
mysterious deaths, Vaxxar has been ordered to capture Pirate Captain Jace
Serafino. The pirate is Kel- Paten's long-time enemy, one of the few besides
Sass to make him loose his legendary cool.
Sass lives up to her name with humor and dialog through- out the story. The
telepathic focus in the story compliments the science which is well written.
Fans of Star Trek will see its influence in this space opera.
GAMES OF COMMAND is a stand-alone book includes science fiction and romance in
a balance that will satisfy both genre readers. The emotion, action and
suspense will keep you turning pages until the very end and still wish for
more.
For those who may ask - this is NOT a rewrite of COMMAND PERFORMANCE! Although
there are certain similarities, this is a new story albeit with the same
characters and similar bones.

Gabriel's Ghost
 | "Fast action Sci-fi worth reading again!"
In family military tradition, Chasidah 'Chaz' Bergren was a dedicated captain
of an interstellar patrol ship. The shock of a railroaded court-martial and
sentence of life imprisonment on Moabar had barely set in when she received an
offer from a nemesis she thought was dead.
Gabriel "Sully" Sullivan was not a ghost, but an intergalactic pirate on a
mission of mercy. Sully needs Chaz's help uncovering a deadly plot involving
high council members of the empire. Their survival skills and determination
are put to the test and on a more personal level, Chaz's trust and growing
affection is tested time and time again as one-by-one she learns Gabriel's
secrets.
Sully is an intriguing mix of authority and power with insecurity that grabs
your heart. Chaz is sassy and pragmatic and is comfortable with her feminine
disposition. Sully's friend Ren, Chaz's ex-husband Philip and her brother Thad
may be secondary characters, but they are not secondary in this quest. The
subtle weaving of events into a complex but easily followed plot makes this a
book for your keeper shelf.

Finders Keepers
 | "Sprite-sized Captian Trilby shows Captain 'Emperor' Rhis a whole new
world"
Trilby Elliot's upbringing as a street orphan helped make her a tough
Independent starship captain. The past 5 years she has worked hard and has
everything she needs -- except parts to keep her ship flying. That is until a
fighter craft crashes on the small planet where she is doing repairs. Finder's
keepers... the law of the streets and the rule of salvage means she now has
what she needs to repair her ship and more. Unfortunately the 'more' she wants
to keep includes the surviving pilot. What is she to do with this attractive
but arrogant mystery man?
Rhis is astounded to find this sprite-like woman captaining an antiquated
cargo ship. He is even more surprised at her talents and courage. On his own
ship he has been nicknamed 'the Emperor' for his demanding ways and he is
enjoying having someone who knows him only as Rhis. Unfortunately, he must do
whatever it takes to get back to his ship with the information he has in an
attempt to prevent an Intergalactic war. If that includes hijacking her ship
and forcing her to join him on his world, all the better as he is finding she
has becoming a necessity in his life.
The inevitable changes in the relationship between Trilby and Rhis once he is
again in control on his ship are explored as well as the danger they now must
face. The worlds and politics that shaped the characters are woven within the
story and the decisions made by secondary characters are an essential and
intriguing part of the plot. As the adventure builds and the battle becomes a
joint effort you will find yourself involved in the struggle and after the
victory, wishing to remain in their universe.
This well-balanced story will please even the most discriminating reader.
FINDERS KEEPERS has a strong romance plot as well as the high standard of
adventure and suspense expected from a science fiction story. Others must
support my opinion as FINDERS KEEPERS won the 2001 P.E.A.R.L. Award for
Romantic Science Fiction; 2001 Dorothy Parker Award and was 2001 Sapphire
Award Finalist for Best Science Fiction/Fantasy Book for 2001

 | "A space opera, with suspense, computer hacking, space battles and
galaxy-wide threats"
Independent freighter captain Trilby Elliot has parked her ancient ship on an
uninhabited planet to make repairs with the help of her robot, Dezi (who
reminded me a bit of C3PO). When a ship crashes into the forest nearby, Trilby
plans on salvaging the ship... FINDERS KEEPERS. Along with salvaging useful
parts, she 'salvages' the pilot who is inconvenient though intriguing.
The arrogant pilot, Rhis Vanur insists Trilby immediately return him to his
squadron as it is a matter of intergalactic security. Inadvertantly, she finds
out that Rhis is really "T'var the Terrible", Senior Captain in the Imperial
Fleet. Although his staff and crew are loyal to him, Rhis is a Superman-type
character who has special skills but not 'people skills'.
Trilby is a 'people person' and used to running her own life. She experienced
life in the "school of hard knocks" which has made her tough, given her a
strong sense of right and wrong but weak self-worth. Trilby unwittingly finds
herself a pawn in a political intrigues which involving her former boyfriend,
both Intergalactic Alliances and their enemy the `Sko.
I can highly recommend this book as it has something for all fiction readers.
FINDERS KEEPERS is NOT a typical "futuristic romance". The plot can be
compared to a space opera, with suspense, computer hacking, space battles and
galaxy-wide threats. This is part of the new 'romantic science fiction' genre
that has solid scientific fiction and action and adventure that drives the
story. Star Wars and Star Trek fans will appreciate this book and other books
in this growning genre. Romance fans will not be disappointed as the 'happily
ever after' comes after much excitement. Action and adventure fans will
appreciate the intrigue and skillfully written adventure.
