Hardcover - No Dust Jacket / name on inside page; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; Foreword: "Although Wisconsin was the seventeenth state to be admitted into the Union, it is often spoken of as one of the newer states. Yet it was but fourteen years after the settlement at Plymouth that the first white man came to Wisconsin. Since 1634 much has occurred, both important and interesting, to make the history of the state something more than a chronicle of discoveries, explorations, settlements, and conflicts. This record has been competently prepared by historians and is available in many books, but in spite of this, the schools have found it difficult to secure material adapted to the interests and needs of children.
